OT: DJ AM Dies at 36 years old

Wow cant say I am shocked. One of the best celebrity DJs ever. I saw him Sunday at the Mets game and he looked fine. I cant believe he survived that plane crash a year ago and now died of an overdose (something right out of the scenes of Finals destination which oddly came out today in 3D).

He may have been one of the best "celebrity DJ's" but I never heard him do anything. Only reason I know his name is 1) he was engaged to Nicole Richie & 2) he survived a plane crash w/ Travis Barker from Blink 182. I've never heard this guy spin, as I doubt anyone else here has. Never heard an original song or even a remix by him on the radio. Seriously, what the did this guy do?

And what the hell is a "Celebrity DJ" anyway? A DJ that spins background music at parties for selfish, spoiled sycophants? A real DJ is about the music, not the money, & seems to me like this guy was about the money & the excess & that ended up swallowing him up in the end.

To those that knew him & heard his music, my condolences. It's always a shame when someone dies so young.
