No chance. If anything, the Pacers will get him.

Eric Gordon wants to go back to his mid-western roots and I truly think he will wind-up back in Indiana. And that team is going to be scary. My guess is that they will move Danny Granger and slide Paul George up into the 3 spot permanently.

That would make the most sense.

By move, I presume you mean trade?

Yeah. If they manage to sign Eric Gordon either this season or next, their deapth chart would be:

Roy Hibbert
David West, Tyler Hansbrough
Danny Granger, Paul George
Eric Gordon, George Hill, (Paul George)
Darren Collison, (George Hill)

The average of minutes between Granger, Gordon, George, and Hill would be 24 minutes essentially (not accounting for any minutes Hill would spend backing up PG potentially). They would definitely need to cut out at least one of those players just to get their minutes to look like:

Hibbert (35ish)
West (25-30)
George (35ish)
Gordon (35-40), Hill (10ish)
Collison (30ish), Hill (+15ish more)

Maybe they could come away with a Derrick Favors-type of player plus a much cheaper back-up SF in-exchange for Granger.

With Gordon's knee injury and him possibly not playing this year, I would see him as a risk opposed to Granger right now. I'd keep Granger personally because I like what he gives to their team, but if Gordon can stay healthy I definitely see the reason for trading Danny. Either way, the Pacers are going to be a solid team for the next couple of years.

Granger is taking up a lot of cap-space for not much besides volume scoring. He's a pretty selfish player and takes a LOT of long jumpers. If I can bring in Gordon and play Paul George at his natural position and get a young big man on a rookie contract in-return, I'm personally saying bye-bye to Granger.

This is exactly why moving Granger is going to be a lot harder than most people realize. He's horrendously one-dimensional, not very efficient, and being paid about four or five million per season more than he's actually worth. For how cap savvy the Pacers have been, they'll almost certainly have to take a trash contract back if another team is willing to give up anything of value for him, which defeats the purpose of what the Pacers have been doing for the last two seasons (drafting wisely, being frugal with money, etc.)

Very true about that line-up...

That would be unfortunate. Cause we would definitely like to have him as a longterm SG.

No chance he comes here, not with what will be offered to him or for him. I just hope he doesn't go to Indy

I say 60/40 he goes to the Pacers. That's all I've ever heard recently is that would be his likely next team. We'll see though.

  2. Oakland Raiders

it would be impossible to trade for Gordon right now since he's still in his rookie contract and the players that NOLA would want make too much for the contracts to match. So they'd have to settle for just Brewer and some picks... just Korver and some picks... just watson and some picks.. etc.

this summer, we could possible trade him to NOLA in a sign and trade... but then would NOLA want what we would offer? They wouldn't want Boozer. We wouldn't trade Noah for Gordon, and NOLA might not want Noah anyway since they'll have 2 lottery picks and will probably draft a C with one of them.
