Boris Diaw Requests Buyout From Bobcats

The current owners of the NBA’s worst record may be making a move by the March 15 trade deadline, but it won’t necessarily be a trade. Bobcats’ forward Boris Diaw has requested a buyout from the team and will likely seek to sign with another team of his choice.

Bobcats President of basketball operation Rod Higgins has noted that Diaw will likely not be bought out until after the trade deadline. This may be because the Bobcats may seek to deal him in hopes of receiving something of value in return. Boris Diaw is in fact a $9 million expiring contract.

Diaw did not play in the Bobcats’ 100-84 home loss to the Orlando Magic. Diaw is averaging 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
