Yea I am more and more on board with just getting a veteran (Sopel?) to fill in the sixth pair if they can resign Campoli.

He just turned down 4 years at 5 mil per year

Rumored is he wants 5 years at 5.4 a year

If that's true then he's either an idiot or he's taken too many head shots. He's not that good to be getting Keith or Seabrook money. Let Columbus have him and screw up their team cap...we just got ours straightened out.

That is a criminal price to pay for Wiz. Though, if he keeps up producing the numbers he did this year, it may be ok. That's a big IF though.

I'd take him on the hawks for 3.5 a year max.

I don't know if I would call the guy an idiot for that, as it might just mean he would rather not play in Columbus.

Frankly if you want to be on a team that has a shot a winning, or even making the playoffs- it isn't going to be in Columbus.

Oh, my mistake. Turning down $20mil over four years with his skill set makes him a MEGA-idiot.

Strong chance he re-signs with the Jackets.

Well if you are going to go that route ... not taking up pitching left handed technically makes him an idiot.

But, frankly, if a guy doesn't want to play in a specific town, then all that guy has, is turning down every contract thrown at him.

And considering Columbus is Columbus ... I'm pretty sure the guy will get his money and his choice of town.
