Either that or on a fast track with his agent holding the stopwatch. He wasn't a great returner because of his speed. His top end wasn't better than others but in his prime, he could 1 cut it up field better than anyone else. Once he started avoiding more contact and/or running through that first man, his effectiveness waned. Once you stop making big runs, the watching balls fly over your head or bounce past you starts to get old. There's more to punt returns than yards avg.

I wish he could of stayed but even I could see he lost a step or two.

I remember when he first started he had no fear. It was a slow jog/run and when he seen a hole open up he was GONE. He didn't seem to have that quick burst anymore.

I do understand that teams seem to keep there gunners back more however.
