For everything Dwight Howard has told the Orlando Magic management about bringing him a stronger supporting cast, about the possibility that he could still sign an extension, it has turned into a complete ruse – a misdirection play on his eventual signing with the Brooklyn-bound New Jersey Nets, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

With the combination of Howard’s disdain for confrontation, desire to be liked and a pragmatic belief that a trade is no longer in his best long-term interests, Howard has created an illusion with the Magic that there are factors that could cause him to sign an extension with the team.

“Dwight’s gone, and [Magic CEO] Alex Martins is the only person who doesn’t believe that,” a league source with knowledge of Howard’s intentions told Yahoo! Sports.

This has been the case for the past 2 months. The way Dwight is handling this situation has shown a lot of people what kind of person he is. All I see him as is immature.

As much as I'm opposed to gutting the team to get him, the deal of sending Boozer, Deng, asik and the pick wasn't bad.

So there isn't one reason that has to do with basketball for him not to want to come here. So, yeah that showed me all I needed to see from him.

Howard might get what he wish. He better pray the grass is really greener over there in Brooklyn.

What a selfish prick, the Magic are 12 games over .500 and this guy can't talk about anything but another team.

Glen Davis needs to relinquish his nickname and have it to Dwight Howard. He truly is a "big baby."

I'm going to be laughing when Dwight Howard isn't even in the playoffs this year.

And next year, too, when the Nets are basically Howard, Humphries, trash, raw 2nd year player, D-Will (assuming he stays).

What's hard for me to understand is WHY........ WHY would he want to go to the Nets??? It makes me laugh really! You play to win is that not correct? The Nets CERTAINLY don't give him the best opportunity to do that! He is already "THE MAN" in Orlando, and they are at least a better team. Yes the nets are moving to a new arena and they will be closer to NYC. But that isn't any warmer than Chicago or other destinations. I am over him not wanting to come to chicago, no big deal. But, if you are a true player and winning is number one, why wouldn't you pick a team that gives you the best shot at winning? All he will be remembered for is Winning or Losing......... I just have trouble understanding some people's decisions. But...... I will get a good laugh at him going to the Nets if that is where he ends up. No titles in their future!

He's said it time and time again -- he doesn't care about winning. He wants to go to a large market where he can be "the guy." He's proven for the last 8 seasons he can't win dick alone, so why not go to Brooklyn and play in a new arena with other players who share the same shitty state of mind -- and continue to not win anything. Hey, at least he can be king of Brooklyn!

It's just hard to understand! He will make plenty of money, but having that ring on his finger is what matters and what makes you great! New mentality of players I guess.

Honestly, if Dwight Howard REALLY cared about winning/being "the man," (and not branding) he would go to the Indiana Pacers who have all of the cap-space in the world.

All you guys sure wouldn't be saying that if Howard was saying "Trade me to the Windy City."

It's always a different story when the selfish, immature loser wants to play on your side. He's not so much of a selfish, immature loser then.

That's the whole point that you are missing! If he picked Chicago, that would be the SMART choice, because he would understand that his chances of winning would greatly increase. Most of us know he isn't coming here so it doesn't matter. It's about winning! Plain and simple. He is making choices based on everything else EXCEPT winning! And that's sad!

Unless they paint the concrete green, he's not going to see any grass in the concrete jungle. Haha
