Completely off topic, but I just wanted to say I love this guy. He's what a football player should be. the guy is smart, athletic and works hard ever day to get better. He includes himself in many charity/media events and is very approachable. On the heals of being extended another 6 years in Philly here's what he wrote on his Twitter account:

About to lift these weights with @RileyCooper_14 @toddherremans @ConnorBarwin98 @jmac_18 @BrentCelek. Nothing's changed, Thank you Philly!

I'm happy to have him locked up.

Nice. Always cool to have good guys to root for. I really wanted the Bears to draft his little brother last year (Chiefs got him).

I liked his little bro too, but when the Eagles drafted Ertz in the first that became a non-need. He actually reminds me of Brent Celek in the way he plays.

If you aren't *** for Kelce yet here's a picture of him in a tub wearing a sweater eating a grilled cheese sandwich. If you look at his eyes you realize he's staring right at your soul.

I drafted him in the Build-A-Team forum, so we're pretty much best friends.

That Eagle o-line is loaded.

Keeping that O-line together then. So what are your Eagles looking at improving in FA/draft then Pegger?

I think the approach will be consistent to last year. They will add a few FAs, but not spend big money. Essentially they will enter the draft with no huge needs per say which will allow them to really go BPA.

From a cultural side the Eagles GM Howie Roseman is big on rewarding the players who have played well in an Eagles jersey before he spends big money on external free agents. Here's my thoughts on what's to come:

P Donnie Jones - One of the best punters in the game. They will probably franchise him if they can't sign him.
WR Maclin - They won't offer him much past a 1 year 'prove it' deal.
S Nate Allen and DE/DT Cedric Thorton - Will go into free agency with a deal from the Eagles in hand. Might come back, but if someone throws money at them they will be gone.

FAs:

Safety - they will be in the market for 2 guys. They won't go after Byrd or Ward that heavily. I'd see then target guys like Clemons, Whitner, Bethea, Lewis, Jenkins or Ihedigbo.
DL - Would like them to get a 5 technique if Thorton leaves. Ideally it would be someone that can also play NT. I'm thinking Joseph, Bryant, Hood or McDaniel.
Guard - Despite the good overall play Herremans has been on a steady decline and at 31 years old you'd at least want to add some competition/depth for the spot. I

Draft

What they are still missing is a true 3-4 OLB. The problem is that one probably won't be there at 22. I think they go BPA with a slight lean towards OLB, Safety, Corner, WR and Guard. As for player names it will really come down to what round they become available. For example if Odell Beckham is there in the second it's a no brainer, but at 22 it might not be their BPA.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing what this offense and defense will do in year 2. It's nice to have a lot of the same pieces in place, but much like Washington's read option once and NFL defensive coordinator has an offseason to think of how he'll stop something typically they do better.

Aw heck I like Kelcy and I'm a Cowboys fan.

Thanks.

And I hate you.

You could be a nice person, but you know, the Cowboys thing sort of trumps any positive quality you might have as an individual.

I had the Eagles in the CCS mock draft. Clearly things have changed, but here were my 4 picks!

Justin Gilbert- CB
DaQuan Jones - DT
Marcus Smith- DE
Denikos Allen - LB/S

Yeah, I think if I started being buddies with Cowboy fans I'd have to french kiss my sister. Both things probably feel equally wrong.
