Impressive record. Once thought to be unbreakable.
I'm a Jordan homer so James is never going to be given too much respect from me.
I noticed that James never even went over to Kareem to hug and dap him up. The guy made time to come see him in person and went out of his way to step onto the court and James didn't think to go say thanks.
It's a me, me ,me ,me world I guess?

It's a milestone but I don't know that it's a defining milestone. No one thinks Emmitt Smith is the greatest RB because he passed Walter. This is no different.

It's pretty much what I say as well when it comes to counting stats. Lebron is (arguably, which you have to say because he's weirdly polarizing) a top 5 all time. I'm not sure Emmitt is a top 5 RB. What I think does make it a defining milestone is the testament to his longevity and how he has been able to continue to play at such a high level. Dude is averaging 30/9/7 at 38, logging 36 minutes per game. That in itself is amazing.

LeBron hugged and thanked him multiple times. What were you watching?

No he didn't. Saw it live. He hugged him and thanked him well after the fact and Kareem came to him. Wasn't timely at all. It was as if someone had to tell him " hey Lebron can we get a shot of you and Kareem?"

It’s crazy that LeBron was the most hyped prospect coming into the NBA (from HS no less) and he surpassed all expectations…wild

On the Rivals site, he is ranked #43. Biggest offers he has right now are from Memphis, Ohio State, Oregon, and USC. The best bet is probably Ohio State. He'll get a lot of burn in college, but back of the bench guy in the NBA. Much like how he became a McDonalds All-American, he'll be drafted because of who his father is. Unless he has a growth spurt he'll never be the size of his father, as he's 6'2"/170 now. I think Lebron came in at 6'8" 220. As Lebron has stated that he wants to play (at least) one season with him, there are at least two more years of Lebron. The only question is how much other teams make sure to help the Lakers draft him, or if one of the other 29 teams dare draft him.

That's cool. I'm no fan of Lebron but to be able to play with your son is cool.

LBJ can opt out after next season. I think it's more likely that LBJ opts out, waits to see who drafts his son, and then sign with that team. Since cap space may be an issue, a sign-and-trade could be on the table.

Whether it's Miami getting Norris Cole, trading for Kevin Love for pennies on the dollar, getting AD, and now this most recent trade that helps out the Lakers while hurting two teams aheads of them in their conference, teams seem to fall over themselves to help out Lebron. I'm not a frozen envelope or creased corner NBA conspiracy guy, but I don't think Lebron and Bronny will be Sacramento Kings, Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and a few other teams. Let's be real, Lebron isn't going anywhere he doesn't want. Neither is Bronny.

One last Cleveland stint? Or is that chapter over?

Nah, I think Cleveland will always be on the table for Lebron. I found this article from The Athletic about Bronny's recruiting. Obviously behind a paywall, but here's a bit on how evaluators see him:

Coaches and scouts who have actually evaluated — and not simply gawked at — his game like his athleticism and how he gets downhill; they say he’s got a good enough shot that he could play either point guard or shooting guard in college. To a man, they cite his high basketball IQ as a strength. “Plays the game the right way’’ comes up more than once when evaluators are asked about him. He makes the right passes, the right reads and happily plays in the context of the game. For a basketball scion, he is an exceptionally good teammate.

They see areas where he could improve. He can be a little too unselfish. Some coaches want him to be more aggressive and separate himself from the crowd. They say he helped himself this summer by showing glimpses of an alpha mentality; in a game earlier this month in Las Vegas he dropped 31 points.

The evaluators also believe he’s been hurt a bit by his famous surname, that no matter what Bronny does, people often want more. “Every time people saw him they expected him to get 35 points because he’s LeBron’s kid,” says one college coach. “You have to like him for who he is. He’s a spot-up point guard who makes his team better.’’
