From the ashes of the glorious post Thanksgiving holiday comes a new TV at a good price.

lg_42lh40.jpg

42 inches of 1080p glory. 120 HZ, 70,000:1 Contrast Ratio, Tru Motion.

4 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 Composite, 1 VGA, 1 USB 2.0 ports.

Had to leave the thing at home, going to bring it up next semester. Didn't want to have my grades tank because of it the final 2 weeks or so of the semester.

XBOX 360 is going to be amazing on it. I have a feeling I'm going to be playing a lot of NBA 2k10 over the semester break. Hopefully Bulls games look great as well on it.

Congrats! I got a 37 in 1080p back in June. You will not understand how you lived without one before. They are worth every cent in my book.

The 360 will also look unbelievable on it. Go on ebay and get yourself a cheap HDMI cable for it. From what I have heard the cheap ones work just as well as the $100 ones. I have one and the picture is so much better than the component cables. Also make sure you go into your settings on the 360 and change things around or else you won't be getting the full 1080p.

Good luck with the TV!

120 HZ is amazing for sports programming. LOVE it.

240 HZ tho, in case some of you havent seen it, isnt as dramatic as going from 60HZ to 120HZ. imo 120 HZ is the one to get right now, the 240 isnt quite worth the extra money yet.

i wonder what the next step up will be like, though

It looks like LED is the next step they are going in. (They're calling them LED-LCD for some reason though...).

I actually have an LED screen in my laptop that is HD. It is a crisp screen, and Snow Leapord and apps look great. But online HD streaming video doesn't look quite as good, because the screen is too good. (I'm sure an XBOX would look amazing if there was some magic way to hook it up to a laptop).
