Sources say the Pacers will acquire Leandro Barbosa from the Raptors for a second round pick.

The heck? Only a second rounder? That's a lot of backcourt talent they have over there...

Nice pick up, adds to an already very good team.

The Pacers don't need him at all. They already have Darren Collison, George Hill, Paul George, and Dahntay Jones (who is a much better defender than Barbosa). Irrelevant move for the most part. They are better off giving Lance Stephenson a chance to get some minutes rather than Barbosa.

Why would the Raptors shed cap space? This makes no sense. Yeah, it's going to help Indiana more than hurt them, but why Toronto? For being a perennial loser team, they still make good money in Canada. Are they just looking for excuses to get younger guys more PT? May as well join the D-League then.

Jerryd Bayless is a better player than Leandro Barbosa anyway and is a decent combo guard. Once Jose Calderon comes back, he can fill in extra minutes from off the bench. It's a good move for the Raptors because now they get to play a younger guy and get some building blocks for the future. And if they lose a few more games this season, it can only improve their odds of getting a high lottery pick.

I see that, but why would they send him to another East team in a dump move? That is the real head scratcher. Toronto could have gotten a slightly better pick, and sent him west. Oh well, this isn't the first time that a GM made a wimp move.

I guess that was the highest pick that they felt they could've gotten for him. I assume that if another team would have offered a higher pick, they would have. Does it matter what conference they traded him to though? He shouldn't even get off of the bench in Indiana anyway unless somebody gets injured.

Steal for the Pacers although his playing time will be limited for sure.

Indiana's got a cluster **** of Guards now. They only gave up a 2nd round pick, and Barbosa expires after this season anyways, so he makes for a nice insurance policy for the Pacers. I don't see this being an overly big move for them though.
