i sucked at basketball when i was in grade school. my dad coached and i wasn't even the 6th man on a team with 10 total players.

anyways my best moment. There was a free throw contest in 7th grade at Marist. i won the preliminary getting like 9 made shots against a teammate during practice. At half time of the game at Marist, i didn't even play the 1st half. I start sinking shot after shot. I was in the zone, made 11 in a row before i missed 3 in row, then made the rest. 17 out of 20 free throws. 2 other kids out of the whole contest got 18. i didn't win but it was my best moment.

This story happened years ago. I think I was about 12 years old.

With the teammates of my basketball club I went to a game of our home team, the Frankfurt Skyliners. And in the first quarter the cheergirls threw two t-shirts into the crowd. The people who caught it could play one of those halftime games like they are in the UC, too.

Yeah you guessed it right, I caught a t-shirt with my face. :D

So I had to shoot some basketballs into the basket. There were different spots where you had to shoot from. So a made shot from the freethrow line gave you 50 points, a made shot from out of the zone 100 points, etc. The task was to make 1000 points. I thought it is possible to handle because my points and the points of the second person would be added.

I looked around who caught the other shirt ..... and it was a little girl with the age of 4 or 5. Hmm that did not raise my chances.

But it was a good day and I scored 1800 points. The little girl unfortunately 0.

But we made the task so both of us got a coupon with 150€ for German Railways.

I was very happy and to play in front of 5000 people was awsome.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Seeing as I don't play a whole lot of organized ball other than pickup games, my best moment has to be anytime I hit a game winner. Now I don't have too many of those, but I'm pretty sure I have more than my man Kirk does in his NBA career thus far.

I managed to go 2 for 2 in a rec league game. Drilled a 3 on the break and hit a jumper from the wing. I played the most minutes on the team but I was a rebound/defense guy.

In 6th grade I was playing for the traveling bball team that was supported by the local High School (Stevenson Junior Patriots we were called) which I was the smallest guy on the team but my nickname was "The Gnat" because of my ability to annoy the hell out of the opposition with my in-your-jersey defense. Anyway, I was sent in as a defensive replacement in the final 2mins after the starting PG had fouled out. I effectively shut down their hottest scorer at the time (think he went 0-5 or something rest of the game), & in the final 40 seconds with the score tied, I stole the ball from the top of the key, raced to the other end & was fouled while missing a layup. I calmly drilled 2 FT's, my only 2pts of the game, & we held on to win. And the victory kept us in the playoff hunt.

Sophomore year of college, I was on an Intramural Basketball team. We were not good, but luckily, every team got into the playoffs. So, it was the first round, we were against a similarly bad team, in a play-in round, and it was overtime. It was incredibly close and I remember hitting a clutch three in the corner to put us up three. I was so incredibly pumped and I screamed, "COME ON!" Nonetheless, we lost on a buzzer beater.

Pathetic, but still, personally awesome.
