This might be good. The Pistons are not gonna hire a coach today, tomorrow, or the next day. With that uncertainty, Detroit might be less attractive to Gordon/Brothers. That means Chicago will have the early advantage in negotiations.

Gordon is telling friends that he thinks Detroit will offer him $11 million a year, and said that he wants to stay with the Bulls as long as their offer is close to the Pistons.

Chicago is a better city than Detroit, and above that Gordon wouldn't have to relocate. And the Bulls championship outlook is better than the Pistons.

It's just a matter of the Bulls offering Gordon what he's worth.

i think the bulls offer him just over 10 mil a year, hopefully that'll be enough for BG. i doubt the pistons are really giving anything more than 10.5, i doubt they're giving 11. i think a good strategy for detroit would be to get hedo and millsap. they're not moving rip, and you can't have both BG and rip hamilton. also, i think tayshaun prince has value around the league as well. it'll be easier to move him than the SG.

Detroit will probably have to tank and get some lottery picks if they want to do a real rebuild. I don't think they are really going to rebuild through free agency. Nothing that will compete for a championship at least.

A little weird to do it this late. I take it that he didn't like whatever idea Joe Dumars had regarding free agency.

This happened because they can't find a taker for Rip. If Rip was traded, Curry would probably be coaching. But him n Rip can't co-exist, so you get rid of the coach, that's the way of the NBA.

If they get Avery Johnson, & sign Boozer & Hedo, they will be a playoff team, not a championship contender really, but they would be good. The best thing for Dumars to do, imho, is tear it all down & start from scratch. And I don't think he should blow all their cap space this off season either. Save some for the real FA class nxt yr.

It's going to be hard for Pistons to sign Boozer when he's free agent
