Here is every somewhat realistic scenario:

Lakers (trade)
Nets (trade)
Nets (free-agency)
Clippers (trade)
Clippers (free-agency)
Bulls (trade)
Knicks (trade)
Mavericks (free-agency)
Rockets (free-agency)
Magic (extension)

No way the Magic don't trade him. They would be stupid to walk away with nothing.

If the Lakers keep struggling, they may be willing to just offer Bynum + Gasol for Howard if they realize this Lakers team is pretty much done.

I don't think there's any way the Clippers can trade for him. The Nets don't have enough to get him, unless they bring in a third team. The Bulls won't offer what the Magic will probably want. I think the Magic can get better than Chandler + Stat, so i don't think the Knicks get him.

So my answer is the Lakers.

Assuming Lopez comes back healthy I'd lean towards New Jersey. If I really thought Howard really wanted to be in Chicago I'd say here.

NJ is the leader IMO, followed by LAC, LAL, and Chicago(No real order here as I think it's a clusterfuck after NJ).

It'll be a trade no matter what unless Orlando is Special person and decides they want nothing in return for Howard leaving.

I'd say it's pretty much up in the air.

But if the Knicks are willing to trade Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler, it will be the Knicks.

Otherwise, the Lakers are a good bet.

Correct me if I am wrong here, I don't think Noah can be moved until late February because his extension is seen as a new contract and thus he must wait 3 months...however if he's packaged with other players(which would be the case here) he can be involved with a trade starting in the next week or so?

I don't know If it works differently with other players involved but I think it's either early feb or march.

yeah.. i know Noah can't be traded until March 1st. Idk if it can be earlier if he's traded along with another player. Doubt it though.

I think he will come to the Chi if management thinks he will stay. The Bulls could probably offer up the best package for him.

Lakers, Knicks or Nets. I honestly think this front office believes they have a superior team here and they don't want to break it up, even for Howard.

I think if it's a packaged deal it's Feb 1st then. I think the wait for a player to player deal is 3 months. A package deal is 60 days.

Even if the Bulls offered Deng and Noah and draft rights to Mirotic, I still don't think that would necessarily trump an offer of Bynum by himself from the Lakers. And it definitely wouldn't trump a Stoudemire and Chandler offer. But I doubt the Knicks are going to be willing to send away the two best free-agents to sign there in who knows how long.

The problem with Bynum is if he doesn't want to be there he is gone after next season anyways. Unless the Magic take Bynum, pick up his option for next season knowing he doesn't want to be there then trade him for players etc.

It's a chance but what does that do for the long term stability of the team if hte center piece of the Howard deal only sticks around for a year and a half?

That will end up a valid consideration. My gut feeling is that the trade will ultimately end up being Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu with a possibility of Chris Duhon being in the deal.

I get that feeling as well! And to be honest I am ok with it. I wouldn't mind another player being added that can actually help out, but once healthy, I like our chances!

Eh to me, if you have a chance to get Dwight Howard, you get Dwight Howard. Trade anyone except Derrick Rose for Dwight Howard. Including Deng. Yes, we'll be hard pressed to stop LeBron then without a big defender, but Miami will be hard pressed to stop Dwight unless they foul him 100x a game.

But I know Paxson, he's going to keep this core together because they are "the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference" right now. And he's not going to do anything that might disturb that.

The Bulls' best chance to get Dwight Howard would be to get a third or fourth team involved like maybe the Raptors (Bargnani to Magic) and Blazers (Batum to Chicago).

I think it's still gonna be the Nets in the end.

Even with Howard finally saying he wouldnt mind playing next to Rose. Still not sure GarPax is gonna go after him for throttle. I've said in the past I don't think he will be a Bull...doesn't mean I wouldnt want to see him play for our team.

At this point in time I am still not willing to bet he will be a Bull (just yet).
