OT: Ryno makes the big leagues as a coach

He'll be third base coach and infield instructor. Ryno is likely the next manager of the Phillies whenever Charlie Manuel retires.

I'm guessing that Philly has basically told Ryno he is the heir apparent and that is why they wanted him at the big league level.

Even if it did match up why do you want Ryno? I thought he was a better option than Quade, but I am far from convinced he would be better than Sveum. Though the amount it matters is probably pretty low.

Oh, I never said I did want him. I like Sveum myself, but the jury's completely out on both of them at this point.

This was another ****-up by Theo, it wasn't so much not hiring him as a manager but rather allowing Ryno to leave the organization in the fashion he did. In fact, I'm pretty sure he won't ever come back to the Cubs even if offered a position after the Theo snub.

And he would have brought at least 10 more W's to the ball club both seasons, while of course getting zero blame for the shitty product on the field.

Are you all sensing my frustration?, well that's b/c wait till' next year no longer applies.

Ryno left the organization after Hendry hired Quade over Ryno. I am guessing the only thing that Theo could have done was to offer the big league job to Ryno when he got hired, but as we talked about I am not certain that Sandberg would have been an improvement over Sveum.
