This MFer lmao

Eric Weddle is coming out of retirement. The six-time Pro Bowl free safety is signing with the Rams after the team lost Jordan Fuller to a season-ending ankle injury, according to Weddle's agent, David Canter. Weddle has less than a week to get up to speed before the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals in Monday night's wild-card playoff game.

Weddle, 37, has not played in the NFL since 2019. He spent that season with the Rams after spending the previous three years with the Baltimore Ravens. Weddle spent the majority of his career with the Chargers, where he was named an All-Pro in 2011 and in 2014. During his lone season with the Rams, Weddle recorded 108 tackles, his highest total since the 2014 season.

I'll say it til the day I die...

ANYBODY but the Packers.
As much as I hate the Pack, I can’t root for the Rams to be the NFL version of trying to buy a title. I want to see them fail and have to blow it all up…

Good for him, love seeing older people show/prove they can still do it in whatever sport they do.

And I see a lot here are hoping they(Rams)lose, Me..I really couldn't care less who makes it/ wins the superbowl. Our Bears aren't in it, so fuck it

Doesn't matter. They are playing at home against their kryptonite in round 1.

Seems pretty risky; late 30s, retired for a couple of years, body no longer accustomed to the shocks.

I agree with you. No matter how experienced he is, it won’t really matter if his speed is gone and his body isn’t used to full NFL game speed. Weird move.

They don't have to win a title, they just have to beat GB should the matchup arise

The only acceptable teams to win the Super Bowl this year are: Tennessee, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Rams, or Cardinals.

I bet his family is a little worried for him; I hope this ends without any injury (but also without a Super Bowl, as I kinda don't like the Rams lol).

Anecdotally, In my late 30s I committed to getting back into shape. To that end, I was running bleachers in the hot sun every day and alternating that with doing a variation of my old sprinters workout (3 mile warm-up followed by 200s and 100s and then starts). I looked and felt amazing, had an 8 pack and was pretty cut.

Convinced that I was just as good as my 22 year old self after a couple of pickup football games where I showed out on 22 year olds, I tried a feat I once did as a party trick, and that was swim 6 laps in my parents' pool while submerged. I could barely get one up and one back before I needed to surface for air. So despite probably having lower BMI and being leaner, I simply didn't have the same "stuff" I did when I was younger. The next pickup game I played I pulled a quad muscle on my first out-pattern lol. Fast-forward 10 years and I needed hip-replacement surgery because of how much I'd worn out my hip-lining with all the exertion I did in my 20s and 30s. Father time truly is undefeated.

Stafford will throw pick 6's on their way to being bumped out of the playoffs

Every time this happens I picture the player just being lost on coverage, letting a huge play happen that ultimately ends the team's playoff hopes. Ultimately it ends up being the last memory that's linked to his playing career.

Side note - Imagine being the backup safety? You have been training with the team the entire season and finally this is your moment to shine! Nope! They bring in someone who hasn't played football in 2 years just assuming they are instantly better than you!
