OT: Soriano DFA'd

Yankees manager Joe Girardi told reporters, including Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News (on Twitter), that Alfonso Soriano has been designated for assignment. Dropping Soriano from the roster will make room for the newly-acquired Brandon McCarthy.

Guessing this is probably the end of his career.

Glad I got to see him play then yesterday. Always liked Soriano. Hopefully he can find a spot on a team. He was great last year but this year he has definitely lost a beat. Would have been cool to see him and Jeter retire at the end of the year
