It makes sense to work with the NFL and recognize they are never likely to usurp the NFL's dominance in the sports landscape. There is just too much history and too much money involved for any other football league to compete at this point.

However, it would be nice to see something like the XFL find a developmental role for both players and technology (ie video assistant ref), possibly rules that make their way to improving the NFL. Probably a pipe dream, but it would be nice to see.
