Why the **** are we still litigating this long-beaten-dead horse?

JFC let it go, people. Fields is gone, he’s on his 3rd team in 5 years, and the Steelers believed a washed, bum ass Russell Wilson gave them a better chance to win games. The conversation on “but what if there’s untapped potential?!” Is over.

He hasn’t proven he can win you a game with his arm, and now in NY, with the OL he never had here he has the makings of one. Mind you it wasn’t just that the OL was bad here—it was—the fucking problem was when he did get time, which he would 4-5 times a game, he didn’t see the open man or matchup to exploit like a slot on an off ball LB.

Joe Tippmann was the 9th ranked C in 2024 per PFF. Vera-Tucker is one of the best RGs in football (when healthy,) he’s just in the shadow of guys like Quentin Nelson, Tyler Smith, and Chris Lidstrom—who are all-pro level—and in back to back years, they’ve drafted their bookend tackles in Fashanu and Membou. Cut the horseshit excuses when his apex so far in his career is 2500 passing yards in a season.

Now Fields is in NY with a defensive coach on a short term bridge contract, not long term starter money. Now why oh why could that be?

Because whatever could the jets be looking to draft that there will be a few of next spring in the draft? QB. What do you know, the guy who’s been a placeholder in Chicago and Shittsburgh is a placeholder in NY.

And in addition to the JF argument, we get to argue about how a rookie qb on a bad team had a bad year.

Yep....the entire NFL saw what you saw and decided he worth......burp.....a backup role and a 6th round pick.

Ummmm.....everything around him can suck; and guess what......he can also suck as bad or worse......sorry I dont have a 2000 word post with 37 hyperlinks to past posts or videos to prove my point.

Moore and Kmet had their best season under JF. Truth
JF suffered through...a Substandard OC ( getsy), a substandard play calling and a substandard OL. Truth
The defense squandered leads under JF. . Truth
U avoided breaking down film of JF's passing with me
. Truth
Bottom line, u hate JF...so I get it. Truth

You must be fun at parties

You must not like the truth

"Yes, his O-line is not great, but...."

-Dataroma.......#70

Sigh......there's always a "but".....when it comes to the basic key to any offense. The OL.

Why is that stats are only manipulated to make Bears QBs look bad?
Sigh.....once again you're using the 'begging the question' tactic.

I feel as if Flus made both him and Caleb play tight. Basically their first job was turnover avoidance and it manifested itself in weird ass ways - Caleb was only good in the 4th, Justin would get ahead, the playcalling would get conservative and he'd loose rhythm and he'd suck shit in the 4th.

Player (year)1st-3rd Quarter EPA + CPOE (rank)4th Quarter & OT EPA + CPOE (rank)
JF (2022).079 (24th).015 (33rd)
JF (2023).102 (11th)-.036 (35th/LAST of all players)
Caleb (2024).023 (38th).077 (20th)
JF (2024).095 (19th).110 (15th)

Looking at Field's data with Pittsburgh, he was much better in the 4th with them than he was with us. Hard to exactly say what ineptitude fell on the QBs and what should have fallen on the coaching staff. He was absolutely terrible in the 4th for the Bears in 2023.

It'll be interesting to see how both Caleb and Justin play this season. When the OL is healthy, the Bears will be pretty freaking dynamic and Fields is in an excellent situation for himself and that coaching staff/GM are 100% bought into him for this season at the very least.

JT O' Sullivan did an analysis on getsy's awful play calling and route combinations. Eberflus had a tendency towards conservatism late in games.

I love it. You want me to bring you film study which I already did specifically so you can analyze the way you see fit despite the stats I brought to prove his accuracy problems.

You have people who grade everyone the same way and rank them by those play by play grades and it's not good enough for you.

No you have not brought any actual film.
Again.......bring your own footage / clips of CW. I don't care about other people and their "stats".

YOU bring actual film clips and we'll break it down by timestamps

I supplied some clips a while back of JF ( and did a breakdown). I requested that you analyze the clips with me. U avoided taking part in the breakdown. Truth

Instead you said.........

"Please stop

Face it....the guy sucked.

He was available Jan 8th.....and.nobody was interested in him as a starter and from the sounds of it; one team was interested in him as a backup (which is what he is) and offered a worthless 6th round pick

You could put together a highlight packages that's 20x as long with his awful reads/hesitancy to throw/fumbles"

Honestly dude, you are easily the most irritating poster on this board, bar none. You think you are right all the time and everyone else is wrong even when you are presented solid evidence. It the evidence does not fit your agenda, you discount it. You are annoying as all ****.

Jets are looking to hit the ground running both literally and figuratively.

Fields was a low risk, high reward bet and the Jets appear to be leaning into his strengths (running the fucking ball) and look to mitigate his weaknesses (being a pure drop back passer) by putting him behind a pretty good OL and giving him full support this season.

If the Jets were looking for a placeholder - they have Tyrod Taylor but they clearly see something in Fields (Glenn coached against him 5x times and Fields was a major problem for him in 4x games) so they'll lean into this season and if he pays off for them they'll extend him.

The Lions are where they are because they put faith in Goff and it's paid off for them. The season will play out how it plays out but here's how I see the Bears, Steelers and Jets QB situations:

1. The Bears replaced Justin with Caleb and gave Caleb Rome, Keenan and a better RB and 100% had a regression season
2. The Steelers replaced Justin with Wilson and didn't exactly get better. They had zero interest in bringing Wilson back but had interest in bringing back Fields, Fields chose the Jets
3. The Jets had zero interest in bringing back Rodgers - he's clearly a team cancer at this point and his physical talent has left him. He has the ego of a HOF QB and the body of a 42 year old man coming off an Achilles injury.

We'll see how the season plays out but I'm pretty certain that the Steelers are finally going to implode because they have the ultimate finger pointer at the biggest leadership position on the team

Mayor Harold Washington ( yeah...he was one of Chicago's greatest mayor's ..who really luved & cared about the city RIP)

I come here to respectfully talk football. I don't digress into an initiation of name calling nor getting personal when I disagree or someone else disagrees with me on football. Instead I back up what I say with football evidence or I'll ask for football evidence.

"You think you are right all the time and everyone else is wrong even when you are presented solid evidence. It the evidence does not fit your agenda"

No I don't think I'm "right all the time".....there have been several occasions where I've admitted to being wrong. And in fact, I've gone and looked up the correct info and posted it. My only agenda is to respectfully show both sides of a football discussion,

If you respectfully have a football issue with anything in my previous comments please copy & paste my exact comment and I'll respectfully address it.

The only reason that the Bear have Caleb is because they earned the 1st pick in the draft with Justin and the Bear regression in his rookie year. Yes I know it wasn't that year we drafted CW but that 1st pick haul is what got us there. The Bear also gave Caleb a really shitty OL that couldn't stay healthy and rotating coaches. No doubt JF's #1 team was crappy.

The Fields vs Wilson thing was about money and age. If the Steelers didn't feel Wilson was better, they'd have never sat Justin. Unless I felt SB ready, I take JF over Wilson every day but I sign Wilson for 1 year if I think there's a real shot.

Rodgers burned the bridge in NY because he's a dick. No idea how he performs for the Steelers but an extra year removed form the Achilles at that age could mean he's a lot closer to what he was and can put his money where his mouth is. If he feels he has something to prove and the young OL matures as hoped...

Here's his last 5 games.
