I think the premise is lame. He states as much in his kick off comments about Mays. For us it eliminates Thomas

Part of the point is that you very rarely see a great player play his entire career with one team, but I agree that the premise doesn't really tell you all that much about the "true team" or the history of the franchise really. It's still kind of cool though.

It's still kind of cool to look at. Even if it is based off WAR and all those other metrics and what not that most probably don't fully grasp (like myself).

And no Ruth. Hmmm. Not cool

He played for multiple teams, so he wasn't eligible.

The "true team" thing eliminates a lot of great White Sox like Shoeless Joe and Minnie Minoso as well.

Agreed. Only 5'9 and shorter are true team guys. Doesn't make a lot of sense either

In terms of "true team WAR total" that's what it looks like. I'm guessing the Yankees are #1 as they have a lot of HOFers who spent their entire careers with the team.

I appreciate the OP for the post, as it is interesting, but it is fucking stupid.

I understand that someone needs to play their entire career on one team, but that is stupid... almost at stupid as the WAR stat.

No Frank Thomas, no Mark Buerhle. No Harold Baines, no Fisk, no... a bunch of other players.

I don't see the point of the people compiling this list as an actual article. I envy them for having to spend the time to put this pointless list together and probably getting paid for it.
