The finals MVP is named after Bill Russell, we found that out last season when the Celts won. You dont have to have Bill there to present the trophy every year do you?

I swear to God they announced it last year when they gave the award to Peirce.

No, they just used Russell because it was the Celtics. However, Russell has done a lot of work for the NBA. When you are a legend like he is, you just show up, make good money, wave, smile and go home. Its the good life, but when you go through what he went through in a racist city like Boston was, he deserves it.
