Seriously what do you enjoy the most about the game of basketball? when your watching a game what thrills you the most? what makes you just say WOW AMAZING? For me its always been the 3 pt shot. When someone shoots a rainbow 3 pointer and than continues to hit, there is nothing sweeter for me. How about you guys?

4.5 seconds left on the clock, in-bounds pass to Gordon, drains it to send the game to 2OT.

Simply the fact that in every second something spectacular can happen. If it is a dunk, a three pointer, a crossover ..... doesn´t matter. You should better not look away when a game is on.

I think basketball is the most entertaining sport, too. When I think about soccer and there are games which end 0:0 this is pretty boring. The Bulls vs. Celtics series is a good example for how exciting basketball can be.

Very good topic, Barry.

There was only one thing. It was my favorite thing about basketball for nearly 18 years.

Dikembe Mutombo's finger wag. That never ceased to make me laugh and smile from ear to ear. I miss it already...so classic.

I love the 3 pointer, killer crossovers/moves and Dunks but my all time favorite is THE BLOCK.

There is nothing like 1 man going up to dunk while another man is going up to stop that dunk. Then the defender overpowers and dominates the offensive man stopping him in his tracks sending the ball back the opposite way or pinned against the glass.

Dunking is the ultimate display of atheleticism and definately drew me to basketball, but blocking is taking another man's heart and manhood and the ultimate display of physical dominance in basketball. Like the hit in football and a play at the plate in baseball when the cathcher has the ball and the runner has to run into him and try and knock it out.

I love when two superstars go head to head in a matchup. We don't have many great centers anymore. Seeing a little bit of Yao vs. Shaq was interesting, though Yao was young and an NBA novice. The closest to Jordan was Drexler? Scottie really had no peer at the 3 for a long time. But I love watching Wade vs. Kobe, Lebron vs. Pierce, Dwight Howard vs. Al Jefferson and even Gordon vs Redd....I love those type of matchups. Rose's future should be very enjoyable to watch considering the point guards that are in the league now...

There is nothing better than the NBA playoffs. Whether or not your team is in it, it's hard not to watch it. You can see every player step up their intensity. The best basketball league in the world with the best players playing for the ultimate prize. Does it get any better than that? Look at the Bulls/Celts series. Anything can happen. What was supposed to be a cakewalk for the defending champs turned into one of the greatest series in NBA history. There were people talking to me about the series who have never watched the NBA in their lives. NBA Playoffs, hands down for me.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
My favorite things in order (somewhat)
1: Game winners
2: Blocks
3: Dunks
4: Crossovers
5: Those crazy trick shots that Kobe and LeBron always seem to make (that MJ was doing before them)

in order, 1 being the best

1. a great assist, pgs at their best. whether it be an alley oop or a fake, behind the back or just a great find of a guy on the perimiter.
2. a great defensive play, a steal, block, or just making the offensive player put up a bad shot.
3. Brad Miller doing just about anything, hes the slowest man ever and i just love to see him do something crazy athletic, especially dunk.
4. watching players i dont like play badly, like starbury thinks hes the best pg in the nba still.
5. shaq being able to do pretty much what ever he wants, like wrestling the big show...?

My favorite part of this game is the surprises.

For instance, remember when Roy came into the league, and all of a sudden the Trailblazers started stringing together games?

Or...for this past season...did anybody pay any attention to the way that the Oklahoma City Thunder were playing MUCH better than their record belied? Or the initial excitement of the Chandler trade before it was rescinded?

That's why I watch the league. I'm a Bulls fan and its been a cold...COLD winter since the glory days...but while I still watch the games...I'm always looking out for the up and comers.

i like the nba because it's nonstop. with soccer you can't really watch it on tv. same with baseball. you have to be there to catch the excitement from the other fans. the nba you can watch on tv, and going to the game adds to the excitement, not creates it.

plus i love the unpredictable nature of the game.
