I am in the Management and Organization class. Its just basically a class that teaches how to manage in a diverse environment and how the importance of a team is crucial to the success of businesses. WE learn some law and other things but we have to right a paper on the essence of a team. If we do a sports team, we need to narrow it down to certain individuals. I think I am going to write on the Cubs big 4 prospects. I have to use the big 5 personality traits and I think they are perfect for this. They all have different backgrounds and different attitudes with one common goal to end the Chicago Cubs Championship drought. If anyone has any ideas what I should focus on, I would be all ears to hear. I think this could be a fun paper. It has to be 5 to 7 pages so it isnt a big paper.

I took that class over 10 years ago, one of the few business classes that kept my attention.

Try to focus on how the manager has to not only manage the games (business) but also the personalities, in order to keep the team light.

Would be interesting for sure, but how are you going to know their personality traits?

in the business world where specific professions include being in a team working in unison there has to be just one or 2 variables that are common amongst the team. once that is recognized, the leader (owner, manager, etc) has to use that to gain some sort of bond and get the team to mold over just those few variables to gain trust in one another. once the team trusts each other there is no limit to what that team can do. that goes for a ton of professions.

If you had to include the Cubs historic and successful seasons, you would still have 6-1/2 pages to write. :D

Just make sure you edit it before turning it in for stupid mistakes. Not a slam. I am notorious for doing them myself.

I think there is enough info out there to ball park their traits from an outside perspective. Bryant is the Cali/Vegas kid that grew up all smiles and seems to have a easy going demeanor about him. Baez has a cockiness, an edge, a chip on his shoulder. Putting a MLB tattoo on your neck means you dont lack confidence.

I need to focus on a a core going forward and Epstein. The Cubs Way will tie in nicely with the paper. I think I am going to stick to Baez, Soler, Bryant, Rizzo, and Castro. Most likely in some form or fashin if the Cubs ever do get to the promise land. These guys are going to have a big part in it.

What happens (if anything) if any of the players are traded before you finish the paper? :D

I think any analysis of winning for the Cubs goes far beyond player personalities. Other organizations win with plug and play talent, personalities, etc. Clearly, the problem is strategic (owner/front office), not tactical (players, manager, coaches). Take a hard look at the men in the front office historically, and your task will be easier.
