I added in a new contest interface. It's basically some fake gambling and prop bets to throw up there for things like contract discussions, stats in a game, wins / losses etc..

Check it out, first just click "answer question" as there is no leaderboard since no one has gotten any correct yet.

I'm going to go a lot more in depth with this as time goes on, but I'm just rolling out the alpha version of it now to see how it works.

Super cool idea Doug. Does it automatically track records?

Nice idea Doug. I was torn on the Gordon question, since I would have guessed 8 million on the dot. I ended up going with the under...but that one was really tough.

Are you going to update the questions for each game then, or is more of a once in awhile kind of thing?

When it gets going I'm going to update questions constantly.

It will also keep track of records. I'll categorize questions into full ballots too, so you answer one ballot at a time and can have winners based on ballot and overall historical winners etc.

I'm going to do more with it. I'm just trying to get the basics to work.

You can also change your answers at any point up until the question deadline (which you can't see right now, but it exists in the background and reminds me that it'd be a good idea to put that on there). Anyway, so the questions related to tonights game are due tonight by 7pm CST.

The question about Gordon's salary isn't due until the 30th of june.

I really just threw a few up there tonight so I could test the leaderboard functionality.

I took the over on all questions because I'm a super homer ;)

The leaderboard for over/under is up.

You guys did pretty well.

I would have been 2-3 except I changed 2 of my answers before tip off just to make sure the answer changing worked, so I really only would have scored a 40%. (shh! don't tell anyone)

I'll add some for next game. I have to think of some good prop bets.

If you guys have any suggestions on prop bets for next game post them here.

Maybe who will score more points, DJ Augustine or Derrick Rose? It seems like Augustine is always torching him...and he's coming off a good set of games if I remember right.

Or "Will Ben Gordon make a 3 with under 3 minutes left in the game?"

Edit: Do they have to specifically be "over/under" style questions, or just something that has two possible answers?

I like the feature. It adds a little more fun to the forums and it only takes a couple seconds to participate. Good idea, Doug.

As for questions I really can't think of any. Are we only going to use the Bulls for the over/under or other Chicago teams. Baseball is hot right now and they play almost everyday, so there would always be something to predict.

I might split it out by sport after the Bulls season ends. I have to figure out how I want to flesh out the software in the future.

Would it be possible to do something, where the Over/Under tab like changed a different color if there are new questions for you to answer? Like maybe turn the text Red instead of black when there are questions for you to answer?

While anything is technically possible, it'd be pretty difficult given that it relies on so much stuff built into the software.

I could probably more easily build it into the forums when you login it would say "you have x unaswered questions" or something like that in your forum profile that's at the top of the page.

I added an over / under notification to the profile box.

We'll see how it works.
