Kids need to learn early that they have the right to defend themselves. I can see how a kid like my son, a well mannered respectful little boy, would have reservations about turning on someone that does something like this. He has been told that I will under no circumstances accept his bullying of other kids; however, he now understands that he doesn't have to take a foot in the nuts, punch to the face or any other physical action against him passively.
As for the other kid, I hope I scared him enough that he doesn't ever do it again.
