With the younger generations there will be a lot more talk as he was in a lot of action movies that was directed towards them; Varsity Blues, Running Scared, Fast and the Furious, Into The Blue.

I liked him as an actor, though it wasn't like he had the most interesting of roles outside of the same that most young actors have nowadays.

That's insane. I really hope they didn't burn to death, and were already dead before the car caught fire.

Agreed Pez. Burning has to be one of the worst death options available. Reports say Walker was a passenger and wasn't driving. Gee, thanks friend.

I'm getting really sick of all the people bashing those (like me) that are mourning the loss of Paul Walker. I have been a fan of his since before the Fast & Furious franchise. I'm not ashamed in the least to admit that I had a mancrush on the guy. The fact that he was a really down to earth person just made it even easier to like him. I only wish I could have met him someday.

There is nothing wrong with feeling sorrow that someone you appreciated has passed away. I didn't elevate him to some kind of hero status and I don't need to be told how I should get over it because he wasn't a soldier or cop or fireman or some "real hero". If you want to spend every waking minute mourning the loss of every soldier, cop, and fireman, then feel free but you will probably blow your head off from depression in about two weeks.

Ya know what I mean?

(this was simply a soap box moment - not a dig at anyone here)

As I am sure you are mourning the driver as well, of course... QUICK, WHAT IS HIS NAME?

HA! C wat 3y3 d1d dere?

So MY soapbox moment...

I dont care in the least that this man died in a car wreck. Certainly no more than if i heard someone who wasnt pretty and famous died in a car. The fact that people can become emotionally invested with people they have never met or ever known, to the point of mourning their loss is incomprehensible to me.

Say Heath ledger... I was mad when he died because he was a bad ass Joker and who is Batman without Joker? That's right, a cranky rich boy who had mommy and daddy issues. I wanted more movies with his Joker. That is the sum total of my remorse.

And here, I didnt even like Fast and the Furious or Varsity Blues...

In essence, a celebrity is not worthy of remorse simply because he is pretty and in high grossing movies.

(this was simply a response to a soapbox moment -- I hope it INFURIATES Big P.)

Roger Rodas, but I didn't know anything about him before the crash because he was not the guy entertaining me for the last 20+ years as Paul Walker did with his acting.

Same thing goes for the anonymous soldier, cop, or fireman. But we never know most of them. Granted, I didn't know Paul Walker, but he was still a part of my life for the past three decades.

HA! I was really just poking with a stick while waiting for some work to complete...

Human social interaction is so complicated!

But I also dont mourn anonymous solider, cop, fireman, hell, human. If I didnt expressly know someone and look fondly of them, I could not care less.

Unless it is like David Carradine, but that is only because he had the death I so want and I was jealous. Dead from his auto-erotic strangler, reported by Thai hookers, dressed in submissive leather garb, staged by a group of ninjas who didnt like Carradine's Kun-Foo ways. Or at least that is who the family thinks did it...

I obliged, didn't I? I don't take this place too seriously ;)

Wasn't Carradine also high as balls and locked in a closet where his corpse could stink up the place as it rotted away? I actually want an open casket wake, I just don't want to be buried. It wastes space, imo.

My whole rant started when I kept seeing comments after Paul Walker articles and from a high school friend on FB that said we should all STFU and stop crying over PW because some soldiers died. NFS, soldiers die all the time. They signed up for it. Unless I know them or have some random connection to them like unit affiliation or they live in my town, I am sad for about one minute. Then I go on with my life.

Knowing that PW won't be gracing my home theater with any new material, saddens me. Sue me.

AH HA! See?! That isnt mourning... that is narcissist! You are upset for what YOU lose... Paul Walker is nothing but a shell for you! It is always about what they give you, isnt Pete... Always about YOU!

(I have no idea where i am going with this, but perhaps I did not need that coffee, mixed with a Jolt and a 5-Hr Energy chaser....)

Pete I think the point some are making is that you had a man crush on his CHARACTERS, not the man himself. Unless you spent countless hours stalking him as an individual, all the interviews and what not are just remnants of acting characters (IMO). A friend of mine posted articles that Paul was a marine biologist and did work to help save sharks, and also did other kinds of work. I'm sure you were already aware of those things and I applaud you for liking the guy based upon those things.........However, I'm not going to shed a tear for THE BEST actor/actress who dies simply because I liked their characters or acting ability.

Honestly, I think that the Fast and Furious movies officially passed Rocky and Police Academy as "The series that just won't die."

Sucks he died, even though this has irony plastered all over it.

I respected the individual for his charity, spirit, and of course his performances on screen. The dude had amazing eyes too....man crush yo. I'm man enough to admit it.

And Dave, it isn't narcissism. Its selfishness. Buy a thesaurus!
