Whats with the facepalm?
What a riveting fucking discussion this thread has sparked. Keep it up, fellas.
Actually, does anyone think this makes Sale start the year as our 5th starter if he impresses in ST as a starter?
I think it could for sure. and that is what i am hoping for. it is looking more and more like peavy was a bad investment.
I dont think he has played enough to make that assessment.
The injuries suck, but when healthy, he is nasty
Yea, in the NL, in a weak hitting division, in a major pitchers park. He's more like a good 2 starter on most teams in the AL. I don't see him pitching like he did between 2004 and 2008 with the Padres while with us.
I agree.
In the NL, he CAN be dominant. he is still a very serviceable pitcher however in the AL. If he can somehow stay healthy, the investment is worthwhile for you guys.
Well duh, but you could say that for every person.
Is his contract up this year?
I actually agree w/ Lefty. You can say "don't read it", but that just leaves empty threads and it makes the forum look bad. It's exactly like when Rush had the Chicago Breaking Sports RSS Feed and all it did was flood the Bears forum w/ "news" that had maybe a post or 2, but they usually were empty and it pissed people off which caused Rush to finally get rid of it.What a riveting fucking discussion this thread has sparked. but injuries could happen to anyoneNo, you can't say that for everyone, because most players haven't been injured as much as Peavy since the start of last year.

Basically, just posting links to articles to create discussion really doesn't work. I post on a forum that if you constantly do that, you get banned. They make you provide your own opinion on what you're gonna post, and it brings people to post in it which brings discussion and it doesn't make a forum look empty and forced upon, like Lefty said.
