Wait weren't you the one who says spring training numbers are useless and you shouldn't read into themits encouraging. contract year could be huge for him.

Spring training numbers should be taken with a huge grain of salt, but good stats are good stats and don't hurt.
I agree they are useless but it's just ironic he bitches at Cubs fans for praising Fonso for having a good spring but praising Peavy is fine.

where is my post on this? I dont recall drilling soriano. I may have said something after his first homerun but I rarely post in the cubs forum
Not exactly drilling, but I think it is fair to point out the difference in your response to two ultimately meaningless exhibition games.I put no stock in homeruns in ST. Holla at me when the bell rings.
This was your quote that I think bleacherbum was referring to:

i understand, but again its not really about no hitting, its about his location and velocity. Peavy being the Peavy we know as sox fans usually see him struggle even in meaningless games. To see his velocity up and location good plus the fact he is on a walk year makes things a little bit different. Not saying ever that he would win 20 games, just stating its encouraging to see since we never see anything like this with him.
my soriano shit is based on fans thinking he is going to rake based on ST numbers. Its encouraging, but nothing to get crazy excited about.
