Miami Gardens — Tony Sparano said he had "no idea" who his starting quarterback would be Thursday night against the Bears, but it looks like his choices have been narrowed to one: Tyler Thigpen.

According to a team source, both Chad Pennington and Chad Henne are "more than likely" out for the season after suffering serious injuries in Sunday's 29-17 win over the Tennessee Titans.

A second team source said Pennington is "probably" out for the year with a fourth career injury to his throwing shoulder, but there is still "a lot left to learn" on Henne's injury to his left knee.

With the Dolphins needing to sign at least one and likely two quarterbacks this week, former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell has reportedly been contacted to schedule a Monday workout. Other possibilities include former Dolphins backup Pat White and veterans Daunte Culpepper and Jeff Garcia, both last seen in the United Football League.

Absolutely. I expect a win on Thursday, but there are no guarantees. Still gotta show up like your season is on the line, b/c this time of year if you lose games you should win, you're sitting at home after the first 17 weeks.

Thigpen isn't a bad QB, way better than more number 2 QBs in the league.

I'll be honest, i think Thigpen is better than Henne. But thats not the injury that the Bears should be licking their chops over. Its the Jake Long injury! Also Cameron Wake is pretty beat up and who knows if he plays on this short week.

I was planning on going back to FL for this game but after that mess in NY and against the Hawks, i decided not to get tickets because i dont want to witness another one of my teams lose in MIA and end up taking off work and spending all of that money...Now im kind of wishing i would have gotten tickets.

Anyways no win is a given but if they lose their best OL, pass rusher and their STs are still a hot mess, the Bears can come out of Miami with a win Thursday!
