Mmmm, watched the trailer this morning and lost my appetite. From what I've heard, quite possibly the sickest movie ever made.

That is really interesting, I never new about "Unit 731." I knew about Josef Mengele and the experiments the Germans were doing on humans during world war 2 but had never heard of the Japanese experiments. Might have to watch the movie if it is in fact informative and not just a gimmick horror movie.

It's all true, but the clips in the video are reenactments. 4.5 hours long btw.

I watched a few videos on youtube about the events of Unit 731 and it made the German testing facilities look like childrens hospitals. Also most of the German "scientists" were caught and tried for war crimes, the Japanese covered up a lot of evidence and a lot of the "scientists" became head political and medical figures after the war in Japan. Everything surrounding Unit 731 is very interesting yet very fucked up.

After negotiating the Japanese Surrender, the US had gained all the results of the highly advanced Japanese Biological Weapons Project.

"From Sanders's first investigation in the autumn of 1945, MacArthur acceded to granting immunity to members of Unit 731 in exchange for data of research on biological warfare. He also inculcated on Sanders to keep silence on "human experiments.""

Biological Warfare during the Korean War, page 1

So the U.S. even profited from all of that.
