You waste a lot of pineapple with these de-corers. Yeah, they are cool and simple, but it's like a lot of gadgets in the kitchen(take up space, never get used, break while rolling around in obscure utensil drawers).
Knife is good enough for me, and if you make a mess with a knife, you likely don't know how to peel a pineapple correctly.
The nice part about slicing a pineapple, is you can use every part. The skin and parts with the eyes can be boiled with water to extract the juice. The head can be replanted in the right soil to grow back another fruit. The core is loaded with bromelain-type proteins and fiber, so you can break it down(blend, chop,food processesing, ect) and use it in anything that matches the taste.
