Pirri to the 2nd line tonight

Centering Saad and Kane.

Should be rather interesting, I think. Pirri has some major holes in his defensive game. Kane has vastly improved in that area, imo, but he's far from a legit 2-way player. Saad has been a goddam machine this season.

Faceoffs didn't go well against the second line, 5- 7 but he started 2-6 so maybe he is learning.

Morin was up today also. had two shots on goal.

I don't know, but playing with one of the most terrifying scorers in Kane and a passing savant like Pirri is sure to open some things up. Gotta get those faceoff numbers up, and figure out defense with that group, but its intriguing to say the least given the day Saad had. Coincidence? Or the right combo and leads to the best hockey we have seen from all three? Pirri earned the chance, now he earned the spot. Lets see if he can keep it. If Pirri can be as good a passer as Toews, it could open up Toews on the first line to try and score more knowing that Kane is getting fed behind him. Not his job and the one drawback to the Kane/Toews pairing.

Pirri has shown a deft passing touch with the hogs.

I think the final line was 5 wins and 10 losses for Pirri on faceoff. Moving to the second line is a jump in class, and the rest of the centers lost alot too, Minnesota must have faceoff beasts. I wish I could watch, just going off boxscores mostly in colorado for now. Maybe buy center ice later.
