Too bad we don't have the old threads to look at now.

For everyone who said the Hawks couldn't do it. For everyone who was asking who was going to take the fall when we got ousted by Nashville because we had a rough start to the series. I know there was a bunch of you expecting Q to possibly be fired. Now here we are 2.5 months later Stanley Cup Champions.

Enjoy!

The Blackhawks can't win a Cup with an overpaid crappy goalie and an unproven rookie... sell the farm!

I ate my crow after game 5. It was good crow.

But hindsight is always 20/20. And there were things that were legit concerns. Glad it all worked out in the end.

Now onwards to new challenges!

16 teams start the playoffs with "legit concerns."

In the end the best team who made it to the final won the prize.

Hmmm, what crow do I have to eat...

I thought Hawks would need another year.

I thought Huet would drive if he was given the keys. (I will eat the most crow here)

I thought Crawford would get more games then Niemi (but not too much crow to eat there though)

I would like any and all Campbell Sucks folks to COME FORTH AND BE RECOGNIZED ;)

And they played like crap down the stretch in the regular season.

And the series was over when Philly won games 3 and 4.

Who was it here that was picking the Flygirls in 6?

I can't remember.....

I was on the flyers in 6 wagon. and for all intents and purposes the way the hawks played in the games up to game 5, it was a legit worry. glad they pulled their head out of their asses and started to play up to their potential.

but again hindsight is 20/20.

I think a few more people need to pull up a chair at The Crow Cafe. Don't be shy. Plenty of room for the hockey geniuses who repeatedly said that the Hawks only played 3 good games in the second half and would get ousted in the first round. Crow sausage for you who said the Hawks were too soft. And grab a chair brainiac dude who said the Hawks strategy was to come close but not win it because that would keep people interested and make the most money for the organization. You definitely know your shit.

Funny, it was just a few months ago when I posted that this team would win Stanley Cups. A small man who wears pink panties posted that was "the stupidest thing he had ever read on the internet." I did not reply.

But somebody else did call him out. The loser did try to explain himself, but the number one point he offered to defend his argument was "The Washington Capitals." (Rolling on the floor laughing my fucking ass off.) Brilliant forecast O-Boards man. Now sit down and munch some crow. You can sit at the head of the table.

In the prediction thread a few months ago I said we would never win a Cup with Huet or Niemi as our goalie.

Now I'm just wondering if Niemi can get as many as Roy and Brodeur.

I remember saying to my brother about a month into the season that IF they're gonna win it, it'll have to be THIS YEAR. I knew that we were going to lose a few guys at the end of this season, and was worried especially about losing Sharp.

Niemi started showing his stuff after he played about ten games into the season - I forgot how many shutouts he had by then, three or four. Despite all the experts shitting on the goaltending in the Finals, they forget how Niemi played in the first three rounds.

I felt Huet could not do the job. Fortunately that point was mute.

I was one who thought Campbell didn't bring much to the table. I realized I was wrong during his absence.

Its so hard to get Stanley Cups nowadays! I think this team is capable of another one or two over the next five years, but that depends on who who let go and who we pick up.

(Jesus, I still feel like its all a dream with this one)

Niemi needs a little work, but he's quick enough I think to only get better.

Nothing but crow tartare for me.

They overcame front office shenanigans and bonded together to win a Cup for their friend and mentor.

I'm just going to go ahead and let you all eat the crow as my predictions were all flawless, and you're welcome.

With the parity the league now has I would say that would be a very difficult task. But he definitely has the skill to do it.

At least you manned up and admitted it, if you didn't post in here I was going to call you out :D

It was a weird playoffs

The only team i thought might give us a run for our money was San Jose who we swept, and the only team I thought would be a cake walk (Nashville) was the only team that really had us on the brink of facing an elimination game.
