So I went to vegas earlier this year and stayed at The Venetian. (I would not have stayed there If I was paying, but my lady was presenting at a seminar and the room was free).
I was approached by one of the hosts and they asked If I wanted a players club card, so I took one and used it on the tables and slots.
I honestly did not do a ton of gambling, and the stakes at the tables were modest. I played some 25 cent machines and some dollars, but nothing astronomical or for a long period of time.

So- Not high rolling by any means, but moderate.
I get an offer in the mail for 3 free nights in the same room I had last time- 1100 sq. foot Rialto suite. Free entry in to a slot tournament and some dinner coupons (and the restaraunts are great).

My question is this- Has anyone else joined players clubs elsewhere on the strip, and if so, How good are their comps? How much gambling did you do?

If there are no other good comps on the strip, I may do all my playing at the Venetian and keep milking them. If anyone else has any really good, generous players clubs they know of, I might go that route.

If nobody else has any good stories, then consider this my gift- Get the players club card at the venetian, play for a few hours, cash in your 150.00 free play when you reach the minimum amount bet, and reap the rewards.

I must have slept all day Oct 4th, I missed this and it fell off page one. I was looking for the first Vegas thread to post this article, not worthy of it's own thread, but depressing enough to piggyback on airtime's.

"Say Goodbye to Free Booze at Vegas Casinos"

My link is the opposite of the OP's experience, I have never heard of such a small amount of play getting a prime room, are you sure your significant other wasn't playing like a maniac while you were sleeping.

Have a friend who does it and gets free trips all the time.
According to him it's legit and he does not gamble big.

The only comps I have ever gotten at a casino were the free drinks.... and now that is gone....

I bet there are still ways around it. Sitting at the bar where all the workers congregate after they get off their shift is one of the better times I have had in Vegas, got hammered won a few hundred playing video poker and met some interesting youngsters. Also, the bartenders were not shy about letting the drinks flow, which I took full advantage of. I bet you could still do decent if you can find that bar.
