Playstation. Though N64 will always have a special place in my heart because of Goldeneye.

It is the sole reason I still own a N64.

Still own N64 to this day. Think I got it from GameStop for like $30. :D

1. Playstation, 2. N64, 3. Saturn.

I still take the Dreamcast over the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube though. I have all 7 of the consoles too, so it's not fanboy-pick-a-side BS.

n64 had sooo many underrated games. Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, WCW/NWO revenge...and the major titles like Zelda:Ocarina, MarioKart, Goldeneye, Mario 64 were all amazing as well. Has to be N64 for me.

N64.

Playstation did introduce me to the Metal Gear Solid series though, which is in my top 3 series of all time. Just spent more time on my 64.

PSX and N64 were both legit. I had the N64 though, so I'm a little biased...

I didn't care for the first Playstation at all, so N64 for me.

Goldeneye
Rogue Squadron
Mario64

End discussion!

Playstation was the king for RPGs. If ya don't like them, n64 was greater

I'm pretty sure were all PSOne exclusives(or PSone exclusive releases at the beginning), if not, most and the best platform to play them on.

If you think about it, the Playstation was the 3rd generation Nintendo console for the most part. Sony screwed Nintendo to get into the businesses of selling consoles.

Also, if you had the know-how. The Playstation was the most hackable too(of the N64 and Saturn). If you hated the CD loading screens, you could mod the board with an 8x or 32x cdrom(up from the 2x). You could also put in an over-ride chip and boost the CPU to 133MHz from 33MHz. Before the N64 came out, you could have the 80MHz over-ride and 12x cdrom hack. So games like Resident Evil, that had a lot of loading times, would literally load close to cart speeds.

Along with that, you could hack it to play backups. Even SNES, 3DO, and Saturn backup scenes were super pricey and expensive. With the PS1, you could use a bootloader CD, or a chip.

I used to be able to hack into my school's Apple IIe and rewrite Lemonade Stand and Oregon Trail. But I don't see people claiming the Apple IIe was the zenith of computer models.

That's because the Apple I-II-IIe wasn't close to being the most hackable of the era. Whereas the PS1, out of this group, had the options, both on the market(official, unofficial) as well as basement/garage type of hacks.

For multiplayer, N64 DOMINATED! Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, Jet Force Gemini, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, NBA Hangtime, WWF No Mercy.... I could go on forever. But ultimately, I liked the Playstation just a little more.

Playstation and the N64 are equal imo. I got the 64 for X-mas, (well, a bit later as it was sold out), and Mario 64 blew my mind that day. Playstation I bought on my own, and when Final Fantasy 7 came out, that blew my mind again. Point is, obviously if you valued multiplayer games, the 64 wins while the majority of single player games goes to the PS. But there were many great games between the two to declare the better imo.
