This is the latest rumored lineup for 2011, via the ChicagoTribune.com:

Possible 2011 Opening Day lineup

1. Juan Pierre, LF

2. Gordon Beckham, 2B

3. Adam Dunn, DH

4. Paul Konerko, 1B

5. Alex Rios, CF

6. Carlos Quentin, RF

7. Alexei Ramirez, SS

8. A.J. Pierzynski, C

9. Brent Morel or Mark Teahen, 3B

Of course this is an ever-evolving list, but it sounds good so far! Now if we can get a solid bullpen...

I don't remember Ozzie allowing Bacon to return to the 2-hole last season when he rebounded.

I wouldnt like Beckham in the 2 hole beckham hits better down in the line-up, .226 as the 2 hitter. Alexei hits .280 as the #2 Hitter

I'd go with Rios batting second over Ramirez. His (Ramirez's) on-base ineptitude could come back to bite the team in the ass if they give him that many PA's in front of Dunn-Konerko.

Very true. But who else on our team even resembles a #3 hitter? I mean, I guess giving Quentin another go at it again :)obama:) wouldn't be the worst thing, but still.

there has been alot of talk on the radio about this, alot of debate on where rios should bat.

Rios is a jack of all trades. His OBP makes him a fine #2 hitter, when he has a usually good year he makes a good #3, in Toronto he hit 5th after Wells & Glaus IIRC, and with his speed he can also make a good #6 hitter.

Its a good problem to have I guess

IMO

1. Pierre LF
2. Beckham 2B (Should be given a shot to succeed here, his upside is a prototypical 2-hitter, plus power)
3. Rios CF
4. Dunn DH
5. Konerko 1B
6. Alexei SS
7. CQ RF
8. AJ C
9. Morel 3B

But in Ozzie's opinion, probably:

1. Pierre LF
2. Alexei SS
3. Dunn DH
4. Konerko 1B
5. Rios CF
6. AJ C (Ozzie probably feels like he needs to break up the pack of righties)
7. CQ RF
8. Beckham 2B
9. Morel 3B
