I think the best option is have George and his consultant interview all of them, and then George can rate them 1-7.. then we take #7
This just might be the smartest idea this board has ever come up with. I like where your head is at.

Probably peters from SF. But I'd rather just give Harbaugh control over personnel
Yeah, I mean this whole GM thing isn't really working out for the Bears. I would be fine with this. Even if he ends up fucking the salary cap position, we'd at minimum get some nice seasons out of it first.

It would be awesome to get Harbaugh but would he come here? I do think he is going back to the NFL. He had a spat with Kevin Warren when he was Big Ten Commissioner with the whole Covid protocols. But even Kevin has said that was a huge mistake and regretted the decision to try and cancel the season in 2020. So maybe they got over it?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
I just want one that can draft.

I decided to torture myself and go all the way back to 1998 with Chicago Bears drafts, and do you know that other than 2020 where Jaylon Johnson, Cole Kmet, and Darnell Mooney panned out, we haven't even had one single draft other than that where more than 2 players panned out, and at least half of them ultimately had just one player panning out (if that - there were a handful where none of it worked).

We are ass because our drafting has been ass, for a very long time. And keep in mind, I am not saying pro bowl, all pro, HOF when I am talking about drafting - I am talking baseline NFL average contributors to the team. Only ONCE in the past two and a half decades have we had a draft where we had 3 from a draft contribute (and not one with 4). The drafting is so broken. I hope whomever comes in has better scouts.

Just looked at this list and I don't know how I feel about Cunningham, but it would be so Bears to fire Poles and just lazily promote him to the position.

Cunningham would not do this to his boyfriend.

It doesn’t matter. The players don’t seem to give a **** and put in the work to be the best, the coaching staff wants to be the players friends, management just wants to satisfy Ginny and her idiot offspring so they continue their phony jobs, and the McCaskeys, who have been involved in the Bears organization their entire lives don’t have a clue about running a team. They are focused on building a stadium to maximize profits, not build a winning team.
A team reflects its ownership. The McCaskey are losers and incompetent. They hire incompetent people that Ginny approves of. These incompetent people draft players that are likeable but not that good. The only good player on this dreadful excuse of a team was traded to them.
This is what this team is until the McCaskeys are gone. A competent owner would look at this shitshow and fire everybody….

He has often sited being hired as HC by the Bears as his "dream job". Money could be the biggest problem. He's already making like twice the amount of money the Bears have ever paid for a HC and the Bears probably still owe Eberflus money too if they can him in January.

If they somehow do get Harbaugh for 2024, I think you keep Poles as GM with Harbaugh afforded to be in the room with him on all personnel decisions.

If that relationship can work, it might be the best on the job training Ryan Poles can get.

But if you are gutting this thing...Ed Dobbs has a solid resume. He would be my lead candidate right now.
