It'll be a lot different next week. The Bears have to be #3 right now. They're looking like the number 2 seed in the NFC behind the Falcons. Luck had nothing to do with them beating the Eagles the way they did.

Damn. I'd love to see what the bears would look like with a decent offensive line. I was traveling on the road back from Seattle today, but watched the gamecast. There seems to be an uncanny correlation between good blocking and wins. Our friend Cutler still got sacked WAY too many times, but the line seemed to do better than the last couple games. Are they maturing? Here's hoping! Their best shot at the superbowl is whipping those fat bastards into shape.

I don't know about #3, but somewhere between 5 and 8 feels about right. the Pats, Jets, Saints, Falcons and maybe the Steelers, Packers and Ravens could be ranked above the Bears. But the Bears play 3 of those 7 teams in the next 5 weeks so they have a chance to move up.

I can't go along with the Packers or Saints being ahead of us in the Power Rating. Niether one has shown that they are any better then we are and we already beat the Packers.

Steelers, Ravens, Saints, Packers all have big flaws. People are so stuck on our OL and QB but they completely neglect that the AFCN powerhouses defenses are not what they once were and both are having OL issues and inconsistent QB play. The Packers have no running game, Rodgers has shown no ability to win a huge game and the Saints have had inconsistency issues across the board. They arent the same team that one the SB last year, they just arent.

Why cant they go by what we've seen from the Bears lately? Since the bye, the Bears have turned around their offense. Yeah theyve had some poor showings from the OL but theyve learned to run the ball, Cutler has played much better and our return game is back in full force. They want consistency? The Bears have won 4 straight out of the bye. The Steelers should have lost to Bills and Dolphins. The Ravens have struggled with some bad teams too. Why are we the ones singled out?

Im not saying we're better than any of the teams mentioned above but im just saying that those teams have big issues, just like we do. Some of them even more than us and it will show come playoff time.

I'm not saying the Packers or the Saints are better than the Bears or should be ranked ahead of them, but I know how the so-called "experts" think. We already beat the Packers and are a game ahead of them, so we should be ranked higher, but the experts feel that the Packers gave that game away with penalties and turnovers and they were ranked ahead of us to begin with. Losing to the Falcons (best record in the NFC) was to be expected and shouldn't drop them much.

As for the Saints, they have been playing better lately ("peaking" is the buzzword among the experts). They have the same record as the Bears in a tougher division (Atlanta 9-2 and Tampa Bay 7-4) and they are still the defending Super Bowl Champs.

I don't agree with the Experts, but I know how they think. All game long the announcers were making excuses for the Eagles, saying the game would be different if Samuels was playing, and only reluctantly giving the Bears credit at the end.

That's OK. Let them keep doubting the Bears. I love it when the Bears prove them wrong and make them look stupid! :)

The Bears are not #3. They are going to get handled by either the Pats or the Jets. My money is on the Pats. I think the Bears can give the Jets a fight.
