You know Dewalt used to be the Ryobi of tools. Now suddenly they are the cats meow. Porter Cable is still the best.

DeWalt is the best overall. Bosch is my favorite for most things, not cordless stuff.

I've got some 15 year old dewalts still getting it done.

Yep. Not suddenly, like the last 30 years. I used to do a lot of contracting/subcontracting work, and n-o-t-h-i-n-g was better than DeWalt 20 years ago, and it's rare for anything to be better now. I made a new battery pack for my hammer drill, and works better than ever.

I agree about Porter Cable. Don't Dewalt have plastic gears these days?
