I can't believe what happen to Japan. Japan is considered for well-prepare for massive siutation, but their city is massive destroyed. The earthquake cause tsuanmi warnings for Pacfic areas.

I can't believe what happen to Japan. Japan is considered for well-prepare for massive siutation, but their city is massive destroyed. The earthquake cause tsuanmi warnings for Pacfic areas.

They are well prepared, their building codes are set to sustain 8.0 quakes just as coastal homes near the ocean are built to withstand hurricanes. But this one ranks among the strongest in recorded history.

Should a quake of this magnitude strike the New Madris MO area again(the last being 150 years ago and rang church bells in Maine)St. Louis would be destroyed and even Chicago would receive minor damage. I've been through 4 hurricanes, those are easy to prepare for. But earthquakes are unnerving to say the least, we had one here in Elgin last Winter during a snowstorm at 3AM. It felt like someone was picking up and dropping my entire bed.

You're right..... We need prepare unexpected situation to happen still. We need improve technology to determine possible earthquake or tsunami.

I agree. I know that two years before the Haiti earthquake, they knew one was coming but couldn't say when. It's hard to prepare for such a thing, especially for a poor country like Haiti.

Japan situtation is getting worse with updates. Centeral Japan have another earthquake-it was 6.6. Japan declared emergency state on necleur plant.
