^What the **** are you talking about.

If you mean the leagues have few more total teams that the MLB, you are wrong, all three have 30.

And if you mean playoff teams, six more is more than just a couple (couple means two) and I think everybody knows there are more than 10 in those leagues.

The way NBA and NHL seed their playoffs makes divisions almost worthless anyway.

NBA/NHL = 16 of 30 teams make it to the playoffs (8 of 15 from each conference)

NFL = 12 of 32 teams make the playoffs (6 of 16 from each conference)

MLB, if ratified = 10 of 30 teams make the playoffs (5 of 15 from each league starting 2013, unbalanced in 2012 because they haven't evicted the Astros yet)

MLB really isn't that bad compared to the rest, but at the same time you wonder if the long regular season is worth it anymore given that more teams are making the playoffs and the playoffs sometimes turns into a crapshoot.

I think they need to tweak it so that the first wild card round is a 3-game series at least.

I like how the NBA and NHL are set-up. The MLB would look different if they went to that format.

No way MLB ever goes to 16 teams... The playoffs would be insanely long. Thats why the wild card is not a 3 game series.

The NBA and NHL are set up such that the best teams almost always win their series. In MLB, the best team can get ousted in a short series due to the inherent randomness in baseball. So more playoff rounds could actually put the best regular season teams at a disadvantage. And if you had two of the better teams in each league squaring off against each other in a one-off game (and it can happen) while weaker division "winners" stand by, then that just doesn't seem very fair to those teams.

1 game playoff? That's stupid. MLB could and should capitalize on making the series at least 3 games if their gonna bother to change things up. You're going to sellout all these playoff games, why not triple the revenue? Just seems stupid to me. I get the whole drama factor of a 1 game playoff but all things considered I don't like the sound of it. I guess we'll see when the time comes.

I don't think they have time this season to cram in a three-game series but they may tweak it for 2013 and beyond.
