I love playing RDR coop missions and free roam. I don't really use it for a hell of a lot, anyway, and my subscription's not up until May. It's not like it's that big a deal - it's essentially going from just over $4/mo. to $5 per month - big whoop.

With ESPN coming to live, I can stomach the prices going up because I will be using it a lot. X-Box Live is constantly making it's service better.

The beauty about this is that my subscription ends in September, so I believe I have to worry about the price increase next year. :smug2:

Too bad the better games are on the 360. :smoke:

Not sure if you're a 360 fanboy or just being sarcastic.

I'm going to assume its sarcasm. That argument "360 has better games" definitely used to be true. Absolutely, 100%, true. Not anymore though. PS3 doesn't have anything that can touch Halo (though Killzone could be getting close), and the 360 has nothing that can touch Uncharted. After that most third party exclusives are multiplat now. Dead Rising, Bioshock, and now Mass Effect. 360 lost all of those. Halo is done after Reach, Bungie is making multiplat games after that. Are there going to be more Fable or Gears of War games after their next installments? What would the 360 have after that? Forza? PS3 has Gran Turismo. PS3 recently lost part of the Metal Gear Solid series (Rising) to multiplat, and lost (at least one) Final Fantasy game to multiplat. LA Noire was scheduled to be PS3 exclusive so they lost that one too. I can't wait for the day that all that's left are first party exclusives.

360 and ps3 share plenty of multi platform games.

Ive got the 3 systems right now.

My ps3 gets use every week.

My Wii gets use every couple weeks.

My 360 saw use at Christmas.

----

I like fps games. Just not all of my library. So I guess that explains why I don't play the 360 all the time.

With ESPN3 added, it's well worth the price IMO. As a college basketball fan, ESPN3 is huge, and I've been trying to find a way to use a game system to access it for some time.

I'm torn on the price increase.

I understand the point Major Nelson made that the price of Live hasn't been raised since 2002.

At the same time, since Live moved to the 360, Microsoft had made a lot more money through advertising, digital downloads, etc..

I honestly was expecting the price of Live to go down, not up. I was a bit surprised.

I know XBL has a better overall service than PSN, but XBL for $60 a year vs. PSN for free, PSN is a better value.

Sure PSN doesn't have things like group chat, but most of the main online features are on PSN. You can play online, you can download rosters, demos, etc.

But starting in Novemeber there's gonna be a family package which allows for 4 Gold accounts for only $99. Not sure if that has to be one household, not sure if it can be on multiple Xboxes. I have no idea. I don't know if 4 friends could chip in $25 each and get 4 accounts. I would imagine they have some way of preventing that.

Xbox live has one huge downfall... it comes with a mic with every console. Giving every fucking little kid a voice and it is really annoying to have to constantly mute people.

PS3 you must purchase your mic, and if you have played both PSN and LIVE would defiantly notice there are farrrrr fewer little kids screaming over the mic on PSN.

Xbox and Xbox Live suck, I have owned both. PS3 is made more for adults.

Also I can care less about subscription fees for online service, I pay for premium PSN. It is only $5s a month... I mean I pay $600 a month in gasoline, $5 a month is nothing.

The micro transactions in games it what pisses me off... I mean I already paid for the fucking game, the console, the online service, all the accessories and now you want to nickle and dime me to death with these stupid fucking micro transactions.

couldn't agree more. a bunch of my buddies have traded in their 360's for a PS3 recently just to get away from the xbox community. a.k.a- the shit storm of 10-15 year-olds who have the vocabulary of a sailor. if the PS3 had the dedicated servers like the 360 has, then I don't think it'd even be close in terms of who has the better online service.
