A similar thing happened in HS to a kid named Stuart I played football with. Over a girl-namely his ex who moved on to the next dude, he wanted to fight another friend of mine, a scrappy little boxer, Mark. I done some mild sparring with Mark as a freshman and sophomore as we both trained out of the same club. The kid had my respect. Great head movement, and nice power. The kid was just a cool chill dude. I moved on to other things, but he kept with it. Well, I tried to give Stuart a heads up not to **** with Mark. Mark really didn’t want to fight either. Long story short, Stuart’s life was changed in that ass whooping-which was completely one sided, and brutal. 2 weeks in the hospital, lost all of his top front teeth, broken jaw, cheekbone, and brain swelling. Looked like a fucking monster. He mellowed out after that, and put the brakes on his wannabe thug attitude. But his wires were crossed for the rest of the time I knew him. Never played football again. Slurred, slow speech all the way through graduation.
He caught that asswhooping that put things in perspective for him.
