Great! I've read the articles somewhat interesting. Maybe they should think about this decision.
Didn't get to the defensemen.[\quote]
Spare yourself; don't bother.
Oh Christ that's a piss poor roster.
Good thing we have money right?
Nice analytical article, however I disagree with the makeup of the 4th line -as the article stands now- there would be no checking line, which I don't think any team would ever leave off- including before there was a salary cap.
That defense is worse than last year's group. H4 is out for Peverley and Hendry is partnered with Leddy? Bad, real bad.
The only grit added to the forward group is Cole, which is a good start.
Give me one more, please.
Bowman said some decisions on who will return have been made, but wouldn't reveal them Wednesday.
Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said that he will start negotiating with his restricted free agents once the NHL draft is over on Saturday.
Michael Frolik, Chris Campoli and Troy Brouwer are eligible for restricted free agency and Bowman said that the organization has already decided what RFA's they want to talk to. "We're certainly going to approach the off-season with that optimism and excitement that we can bring in some new players," Bowman said. "Once we find out where we're at and get our RFAs signed, we'll know exactly where we're at." The salary cap is expected to be $64 million in 2011-12 and that will give the Blackhawks a lot of flexibility, especially compared to the 2010 off-season where they were forced to trade three regulars to Atlanta and Kris Versteeg to Toronto in order to get under the cap. Stay tuned.
Chicago GM Stan Bowman thinks that Brandon Pirri will contribute at the NHL level next season.
The 20-year-old was drafted in the second round, 59th overall in the 2009 Entry Draft and after playing most of the season with Rockford of the AHL last season, Bowman thinks Pirri could be ready for prime time. "Brandon had an excellent ending to the season, but he's still a kid," Bowman said. Pirri played one game with Chicago last season before being sent to the minors where he had 12 goals and 31 assists in his first year as a professional. He has little fantasy value at this time.
Interesting stuff to read.
Unfortunately, I cannot read the article...Kinda small still, isn't he? With all of the skill this kid is reported to possess (we didn't see much of him at the NHL speed this season), it sounds as if he'll be one of our top three centers.
I'd much rather have Sharp slotted back or a more legit, consistent center added for the #2 spot than rely on a guy who has played a whopping one game.
