#1:

Luol Deng & Omer Asik (to Dallas [in-need of a center and to get younger at SF]).

for

Shawn Marion & Jason Terry (to Chicago)

Terry and Asik would need to be signed-and-traded.

Why: The Bulls' greatest weaknesses are their lack of 3-pt shooting, long-term cap-space, and play-makers on the wing. This solves all of those problems.

#2:

Carlos Boozer (to Denver)

for

Al Harrington & Chris "the Pedobird" Andersen

Why: sheds pay-roll and makes Asik more than expendable. Harrington can also play SF and both have less years than Boozer. It is better than amnestying him because at least the Bulls wouldn't come away with nothing.

#3:

Dwight Howard (to Chicago)

for

Deng, Boozer, and Asik (to Orlando)

I honestly don't care if Howard doesn't want to come to Chicago. I'd consider trading Deng and Boozer and Asik (to avoid matching whatever offer he gets in RFA) just to shed the long-term cap-space.

I love Luol but I would love Eric Gordon a LOT more.

I am beginning to hear arguments like this more and more. Bring Howard in and convince him to stay...if not...rebuild with lots of cap space.

Bingo. The only down-side would be Turkoglu's contract but at this point the Bulls could actually use Hedo. He would improve the offense.

losing deng

Deng is already going to miss a large chunk of next season. If the Bulls are ever going to shed pay-roll (namely Boozer's chunk), Deng is going to need to go with it. And he is a replaceable piece with enough draft picks/cap-room.

I've got an idea -- let's trade for Carmelo Anthony.

But seriously, we can only hope that team that will have some cap space will be looking to take on that payroll with one of the guys we have. I'd love to not reup on Watson's contract and find a way to shed Brewer and Korver. If somebody is willing to make a crazy offer on Asik, I'd let him walk, too. That way, if we do find a bidder for Deng or Boozer, it'd be exponentially easier to facilitate a deal.

Although Luol Deng is "good", him and Boozer and Asik are not enough for Howard. Orlando already has an improved Ryan Anderson, meaning that there's no need for Boozer. I don't know about Asik and Deng, but I don't see Orlando agreeing with that deal.

Rose, Watson
Terry, Hamilton, Korver, Brewer
Marion, Butler
Gibson, Harrington
Noah, Andersen

I like that team a lot more than the team of last year.

The Bulls also need to try to seek a trade for Eric Gordon. Luol Deng and draft picks for Eric Gordon doesn't sound like a bad idea at all to me.

If you are the Hornets, it is still better than losing Gordon in free-agency for nothing.

There were reports that Orlando was the team that came to the Bulls with this trade when Dwight Howard leaving seemed imminent prior to last year's deadline. Never say never.
