Wasn't an official thing, but cool anyway. The team name and head coach will be announced within a week.

I guess I just assumed they would go back to the logo they had before moving to Phoenix. But after seeing these, I'm glad they didn't. They look great, kind of a modern approach to a retro-look, if that makes any sense. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing them play next season. It's going to be great for the NHL.

Thanks for posting.

Those were fan-made... not the real thing, just thought they looked cool. The name isn't even going to be announced until the BOG approved the relocation, but before the draft.

I said they weren't official at the bottom of the post.

That's it, I'm taking away your 'thanks'.

I think that logo looks sweet.

Agreed, I think they look pretty sharp.

I'm hoping they use the Jets name again. Anything else wouldn't be right IMO. Here's an article about the situation right now.

Winnipeg's NHL team has no name yet; arena does - NHL - CBSSports.com Hockey

I like either the Winnipeg Jets or the Manitoba Moose. What I'm really interested in though, is seeing how the NHL is going to realign the divisions with the relocation of Atlanta's hockey club to Winnipeg. From everything I've read so far Winnipeg will remain in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference through the 2011-2012 season, and then placed in the Northeast Division of the Western Conference. There's a lot of talk about the Red Wings then being moved to the Eastern Conference and the Avalanche being sent to the Central Division to fill the respective voids. Now I obviously can't vouch for the validity of said claims, but I really don't want to see the Red Wings leave the Central Division.

Fine, you can have your thanks back. But it's only because you're so damn adorable.

By the way, I did see the 'not-official' part of your post when I originally read it, but it obviously didn't register with me or something. Regardless, it's still a cool thread.

i think it would make more sense to put columbus in the east instead of detroit since it is farther east, not by much but still....

Or Nashville. Nashville could go right into the Southeast and then the divisions in the East wouldn't need to be changed.

But no teams, not even Winnipeg, are switching conferences this season. Winnipeg is going to go a season in the Southeast Division before realignment.

The Winnipeg Fightin' Byfugliens! :smug:

I'd been thinking for a long time that if they aren't going to be the Jets, they should be the Manitoba Byfugliens or the Winnipeg Ladds.

It ought to be the Winnepeg Sub-Zeros (or Wind Chill).

The one with the maple leaf kind of reminds me of a Labatt's Blue bottle though -which I suppose says hockey now that I think about it. :)
