Boy, the last time I went to this, it was the year they just drafted Kane (2007). It was still being held out in Bensenville and I really wanted to get a look at Kane and see if Toews was going to get a legit chance to make the team. There were maybe 100 people there... it was a pretty low key affair. Savard, Tallon and Mikita were all there and got hit up for a few autographs, but nothing like they would today.

It was pretty cool. I took a few pictures... here they are:

Gotta love the P Kane #12

If there's one thing I remember, it's how completely dominant Kane and Toews were. They were not only on the same scrimmage team, but they were on the same line. As expected, they just crushed the white team. If I remember correctly, Kane had 2 goals and Toews had 1 during that 3 period scrimmage game.

Knew right then that Kane was making the opening night roster.

Had a great time there for the 2 days I attended.

Andrew Shaw is a nasty SOB...knocked this Mark Nemic out of the 1st scrimmage today with a fucking booming hit. (clean not dirty)

Rob Flick is a nasty dude to play against but has alot of skill.

Mark McNeill has some wicked hands & can win face offs. :troll:

Dylan Olsen is much improved compared to last year.

Johan Mattsson kicked out some rebounds but overall pretty solid.

Jimmy & Kevin Hayes were very impressive once again.

David Gilbert is very slick with the puck.

Kent Simpson was better this year compared to last year when he got lit up & proceeded to bust his goalie stick on the bench.
