The irony of your statement is that most likely the funeral will be held at a church where love will be preached....but you shouldn't let that fact get in the way of your bashing of religion.

Not all the blame can be placed on Religion. Its the jackass preaching garbage. Religion isnt really a bad concept. People coming together to find support and love. To find inner strength in the hardest of times. However, there are serious issues regarding religion. Such as the radicals who use God as a logical reason to murder innocent people. They said that the shooter was sent by God because of America's tolerance of homosexuals. The Westboro Baptist Church has nothing to do with mainstream religion. They are a cult. Living in Topeka I see them protesting on street corners once or twice a week. We have learned to just ignore them. They hate that.

The latest news is that they have agreed not to protest at the little girls funeral. They still intend to protest at the funeral of U.S. District Judge John Roll, however.

My rebuttal would be that the beliefs they follow are taken from the Bible, the same text many mainstream religions use. Christians believe in the teachings of the Bible which condemns homosexuality, they are one in the same... one just picks and chooses what to follow from the same teachings.

A lot of mainstream Christians who are not considered a "cult" do the exact same type of protesting at abortion clinics.

See how if all religion just disappeared we would all be better off. In fact 9/11 would have never happened.
