Not much of an MLB CBA guy. Can someone please give an explanation for me.

Let's pretend you are picking 30th. 10 teams sign players who have a QO. They lose their 1st round picks. Does that mean you are no picking 20th and the supplemental rounds start at 21? How does the order of the supplemental rounds get decided?

IIRC, if you sign a QO player you forfeit your pick. So, instead of being 30 1st round picks there'd be 29 if one is signed and so on. After the first round you have I believe competitive balance picks in between of which i think there is 7 but don't quote me on that. And after that you then have picks for signing away players. Feel like I might be missing a round of picks there but I'm not sure.

As for ordering, I'm not 100% sure but I'd assume if you are the first team outside the protected picks and you signs someone who has a QO attached that the team who you signed the player away from would then pick first in that particular section.

12 competitive balance picks for 14 eligible teams, I believe.
