NHL Logic:
Slam players head against ice = 2 and a half K

You knew this was coming. If you say something about the refs you get fined. It is that simple.

Shouldn't be 4x more than a head slam though...

should be fined for having trash like Brunette & O'Donnell on the ice in OT.

Exactly - although unless they chasnged how the rules works- the linesmen don't technically have any function other than providing input - it would all be on the refs- those jokers with the orange pair of arm bands. . . as they can take or leave any input they get from the linesmen (I don't even think that the linemen can actually give input unless specifically asked for it by a ref.). Or at least I am pretty sure that is how it used to be (back in the days of a ref and two linesmen).

Not only did they miss the entire call ... the idiots didn't even blow the whistle to stop play where there was a guy in obvious distress lying on the ice and not moving much - while Chicago had control of the puck.... excuse me - but what the hell were those idiots thinking? That's the sort of crap you get at reffed recreational leagues- which is where they ought to think about sending that officiating crew -as imho - they haven't quite made it out of their trainee period.

Simply pathetic.

Some pundits I heard were saying that the league probably wouldn't fine him since they allow for some emotional, heat of the moment venting. I think that's what the league probably did (which those pundits didn't consider) -he said what he said on the bench with the MSNBC guys during the game in the heat of the moment and, by bring it up again after the game, he deservedly got dinged. Had he left it at "makes [him] sick" from the bench and addresses it differently in the post game presser, I don't think he gets fined.
