How did Plaxico Burress serve 2 years in prison for shooting himself in the the foot, and Conrad Murray 2 and half year for killing a billionaire?

I honestly felt really bad for Plaxico, brother shot himself in the foot and served 2 years.

No charges were filed or anything.
